Thousands To Gather At San Jose Courthouse

Thousands to Gather at San Jose Courthouse to Support Pastors on Trial - News Conference to Follow Closing Arguments

San Jose, CA, For Immediate Release, January 27, 2021 – A week of rain will not keep Christians and Pastors from across the state and the Bay Area from gathering Thursday, January 28, 2021 at The Old Courthouse, San Jose and St. James Park to show their support for Pastor Mike McClure and Youth Pastor Carson Atherley who have been targeted by the County of San Jose personally and corporately for living out their First Amendment Rights!

San Jose Calvary Chapel has been bullied by non-elected county bureaucrats and Judge Peter Kirwan is upholding fines to the church of over $1,00,000 and besieged the pastors with contempt of court and personal fines of over $30,000 each. Ironically, the judge does not submit or believe the rulings of The Supreme Court of the United States of America are applicable to this case. Their crime? Helping people in crisis, serving and loving the people of San Jose in an area where detrimental mental health statistics are skyrocketing. Church goers come from as far as San Francisco and beyond to seek fellowship and worship. One attender said she has been shocked to see that California was more hostile to churches than communist Moscow, Russia, where she immigrated from.

And, Church United has just discovered that three more churches (Sebastopol, Sunnyvale, and another one in San Jose) have also been fined from $1,200 to $5,000 by their communist counties for adhering to their biblical calling to minister to their flocks.

Scores of Church United Pastors from Southern, Central and Northern California will join the News Conference on the steps of the Old Courthouse directly after the closing arguments are heard.
