Iran's Role: Member Haskel highlighted Iran as the primary instigator of violence and terrorism in the Middle East, mentioning various proxy groups (e.g. Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the Houthis in Yemen).
Attack on Israel and International Jihad: On October 7th, Israel faced a major attack with thousands of terrorists infiltrating its borders, targeting 22 cities and towns, resulting in the massacre of families and taking hostages. Member Haskel warned of an international jihad being declared -- members of Hamas and other proxy groups are currently urging supporters to attack Jews worldwide, which has already led to incidents in various countries.
Religious and Cultural Conflict: The conflict was framed as not merely territorial but as a religious and cultural clash, with extremists aiming to eliminate all non-Muslims from the region -- including Jews and Christians. The atrocities committed in Israel were described as "crimes against humanity", with details of heinous acts that occurred during the conflict. Member Haskel made it clear that Israel was the first front of the attack, and if, God forbid, Israel was defeated, Europe and United States would be next.
Unity and Response: The Israeli people have come together in unity, putting aside political divisions to face the ongoing crisis. Member Haskel spoke about how divided the nation of Israel was prior to October 7th, but everything has changed -- the people of Israel have set aside their political views and challenges to fight together for their lives and for their freedom.
Need for Eradicating Extremism and Providing Aid: Member Haskel underscored the importance of combating radical Islam and extremist groups for the sake of peace and coexistence in the region.
When we asked Member Haskel what we could do practically as supporters of Israel to help with relief efforts, she made reference to a website where individuals can contribute to charities aiding those affected by the conflict. We prayed over Member Haskel, knowing that God has placed her in this role for such a time as this.
